Best known from his gag TV appearances in which he gets (bloodlessly) squashed, pummelled and blasted like a Warner Brothers cartoon character, gravel-voiced daredevil Super Dave Osborne here tries to carry an entire comedy feature on hisaccident-prone shoulders. A greedy pay-per-view tycoon sends a winsome female temptress, shuts down Super Dave's already-chintzy Vegas amusement park, and even grooms a young punk in imitation of Super Dave, all to force the famous stuntman, supposedly retired, into performing yet another ludicrous feat for thecameras. This skipped being released by MGM in theaters late in 1999, and no wonder; the thin premise and slapsticky jokes work best on the small screen.
